People often make decisions without proper discernment. Discernment takes time and requires an openness to God and a willingness to obey God no matter what. Before deciding on anything significant, we must make time for proper discernment. Pay attention to the movements in your soul pertaining to each decision you are seriously considering before actually deciding.

Sometimes it's hard to practice silence and solitude when you are dealing with internal noise. It's easy to deal with external noise. Just go to a quiet place. But what about internal noise? They go with us regardless of the area we are in. There is nothing to worry about because internal noise is the material that God wants us to deal with in our silence and solitude in His presence. God is present in reality, and our inner noise is our reality.

Faith is important. But the content of our faith is even more important. We can have faith as small as a mustard seed, but if the content of our faith is based on the truth of God's character, then nothing is impossible. Believing in God and who He is based on His revelation to us through the Person of Jesus Christ is far more important than the size of our faith.

It is important to cultivate or nurture our relationship with God because it is the most important relationship. God is our Creator, our Father, and our ultimate source of love and guidance. When we have a close relationship with God, we are able to better understand His purpose for our lives and so trust in His will for us. We are also able to draw strength from Him in times of difficulty and be comforted in times of trial. God will always be there for us but we must nurture a close relationship with Him. Please don't leave it on autopilot.

The Bible speaks of the heart as the core of our being, the seat of our emotions, and the center of our thoughts. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Matthew 5:8 reads, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Jeremiah 17:9 states, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” In other words, the Bible emphasizes the importance of having a pure, humble heart that is devoted to the Lord. It is through a heart devoted to God that we can find wisdom, strength, and peace.

Not all consolations are from the Lord. Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light. Our hearts can also deceive us. But there are times when we can be more sure that something is really from the Lord. This is called "consolation without logical reason or cause". In other words, it cannot be from you or from anyone else because there is no logical reason for it. Also, the feelings and thoughts are actually drawing you closer to God (not away from him through doubts, etc.), thus making you trust Him more despite the surrounding circumstances or feelings you are experiencing.

There are times when we really need to keep things private. But sometimes the enemy tempts us to keep things in secret which otherwise should not be kept secret. In other words, we need to be accountable when it comes to decisions and actions that we want to take, especially if we are being bothered inside our hearts about it. The Spirit of God would not just let us go outside of God's will without warning us in our spirits. But the enemy loves to deceive us by telling us that we don't have to confess it to others. We don't have to be accountable. This is the temptation to secrecy.
