He calls up the ambulance company to try to resolve things peacefully, but the representative on the phone is less than helpful. She yells, "So sue me!" The thing is, OP is a lawyer, so he's more than happy to maliciously comply with that request! After he files the lawsuit, the company's lawyer calls back and practically begs to settle out of court.
