All of us have dreams we’re believing for, but too often we get discouraged and quit believing for the fullness of what’s in our heart. It’s easy to water down what God promised us. “I don’t like this job, but it’s good enough.” “I was believing for a house, but this apartment is okay.” “I was hoping to get well, but I’ve learned to live with this sickness.”

If you’re going to become all you were created to be, you have to keep a fire in your spirit that says, “I refuse to settle for less than what God promised.” You’re not going to be talked out of it, you’re not going to water it down, and you’re not going to let good enough be good enough. It may be more difficult and taking longer than you thought, but what God promised you is still on the way—not a watered-down version, not a make-do promotion, not a partial healing, not a good-enough marriage. God doesn’t water down what He’s spoken to us.

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.

The apostle Paul went through all kinds of unfair situations. He was beaten with rods, falsely accused of crimes, lied about by others, put in prison for years, and shipwrecked. He could have been overwhelmed and crushed under the pressure. Yet he is the one who wrote, “Thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph.” He understood that God doesn’t let you face what you can’t handle. If you stay in faith as Paul did, you’ll discover you’ve been designed to withstand the pressure. You’ll find that the enemy can’t come up with a scheme to outwit the God who created you. He can’t send a storm that’s so powerful that your walls get blown down. You may be hard pressed, but you will not be crushed. Paul was saying we’ve been designed for the difficulty. God has taken into account all the weight, all the trouble, and all the bad breaks, and He’s given you the strength, the courage, and the fortitude to withstand.

“Father, thank You for being the God who always leads me to triumph. Thank You that You have designed me to withstand pressure even when I am hard pressed by it. I believe that You have taken into account all that I need and are supplying me with the strength to overcome. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

When you go through difficulties you don’t understand, remind yourself that God is your heavenly Father. If you have children, you know how much you love them and do your best to watch after and protect them. God is that way, but billions of times more. You are His prized possession. There’s nothing He cares more about than you. He has your best interest at heart.

You may have been knocked down, but be encouraged that our generous God is about to put you back on your feet. Sicknesses, betrayals, and disappointments don’t get the last word. God does. The difficulty is simply a setup for God to launch you to something greater than you’ve ever imagined. The process may be painful, but the purpose is well worth it. One day you’re going to look back and see how God worked it all for your good. Stay in faith. You’re going to come out promoted, vindicated, stronger, healthier, and to a new level of your destiny.

“Father, thank You that there is a purpose for whatever pain comes my way, and You have great plans to use it for my eternal good. Thank You that though I may not understand it now, the day is coming when You will put me back on my feet, and I will see it clearly. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

God is always with you. That means He is present at all times, continually, perpetually, throughout all time. In your day of trouble, He promises to be a help to you. How is He your help? “Help” means something different to each person. That’s because “help” is specific to your need. If you need money to pay your bills, a chocolate cake isn’t going to be much help! But we serve a God who is very specific. And because He is always with you, He always knows exactly what you need and is always ready to provide it!

Today, are you facing trouble or adversity? Know that God is with you. Look to Him for help. Trust that He has the answer, and that He is working things out in your favor. As you continue to believe Him and follow His direction, He will lead you in the way that you should go. He will comfort you, revive you, restore you and bless you! He will be your ever-present help because He is forever faithful to His Word!

Father God, thank You for being my ever-present help. I trust today that You are with me, that You are comforting me and restoring my soul. I lift my eyes to You this day. Help me to follow Your commands and honor You as You direct my steps in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Isn’t it wonderful to know that God promises to always lead us into victory? That means no matter what you are facing today, no matter what’s going on in the world around you, no matter what anybody says, you should always be thanking God because victory is always on the way! You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to celebrate what God is going to do in your life. Praise is putting action behind your faith. In the middle of that adversity or tough time, start making a list of who you’re going to invite to your victory celebration. That means if you’re in the hospital, start planning what you’re going to do when you get out. If you lost some money when the stock market went down, start planning your coming-out-of-debt party. When things don’t look good in the natural, remember, we serve a supernatural God. With God leading you into victory, you can always plan for increase. You can plan for restoration. You can plan for a comeback, and you can plan for victory because He is leading and guiding you in Jesus’ name!

Father God, thank You for being my ever-present help. I trust today that You are with me, that You are comforting me and restoring my soul. I lift my eyes to You this day. Help me to follow Your commands and honor You as You direct my steps in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Are you living the abundant life Jesus came to give? I’m not talking about living in the fanciest house or driving the newest car. No, His promise of abundant life goes way beyond material things that this world offers. Abundant life means “life to the full.” That means no matter what is going on around you, you stay in faith because you know God is still in control. It means having peace in the midst of a storm, being able to sleep at night, and having good relationships. You can have joy when things are uncertain. It’s easy to look at that verse and think, “God is going to give me abundant life someday.” But the truth is that God wants you to have abundant life TODAY! Don’t waste another second living in mediocrity or settling for less than God’s best. No, it's time to shake off that barely-get-by attitude and let go of what didn't work out. Instead, make room to receive His hope, joy, strength and favor. Declare that you are living the abundant life every day!

Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, so that I can have eternal life. I know that You want the best for me. Help me to keep my heart and mind focused on You so that I can walk in Your ways all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen."

All around you, God’s goodness is on display. The question is, do you see it? The Scripture talks about how God was in the midst of people, but they knew Him not. Too many times, God is working in our lives, showing us favor, protecting us, sending us healing, but we don’t recognize His goodness. For example, if you weren't the most qualified or the most talented but you got the promotion, that’s the goodness of God. If you’re going through a difficult time and a friend stops by out of the blue and cheers you up, that’s the goodness of God. It’s easy to see the negative, what we don’t have, what we didn’t get, but that won’t build our faith. Instead, make a decision to search for the good things God has given you. His mercy is new each morning. Look for His goodness, His favor today!

"Father God, thank You for every good and perfect gift that You have given me. Thank You for ordering my steps and guiding me with Your Word. I love You and praise You today for Your faithfulness and look forward to the good things You have in store for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen."

"For a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries."

God is always giving us opportunities to move forward in life. God wants you to grow and reach your full potential. Anytime you take a step forward, the enemy will try to bring opposition and adversity against you. But God promises that through Him, you can overcome any opposition the enemy brings your way. When you step out in faith and the opposition comes, just keep standing strong and doing what you know to do. Keep praying, keep believing, keep reading and speaking the Word. Keep fighting the good fight of faith and going to church. Keep walking in love and forgiveness, and keep your heart tender. When the enemy sees that you are more determined than he is, he'll back down, and you will move forward to new levels of victory! Stay focused and full of joy no matter what comes against you. As you do, you will overcome every opposition and obstacle you face!

"God, I know it is Your will that I grow strong in my faith. I want to reach my full potential. Help me to push through the doors of opportunity that You open for me-no matter what holds me back. Thank you for challenging me to live a life of victory! In Jesus' name - Amen."

"...For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you."

You can't worry and worship at the same time. When the devil brings you thoughts of worry, anxiety, and fear, don't believe them! Instead, let those thoughts be a reminder to you to thank God that the answer is on the way! That's what King Jehoshaphat did. The people of Judah were surrounded by three major armies. It didn't look as though they had a chance. This godly king was probably bombarded with thoughts of fear and anxiety. But he gathered the people together, lifted his eyes toward heaven, and prayed the simple prayer in today's verse. Jehoshaphat's prayer was answered. God told the people to march right into the enemy's camp, singing and shouting praises on their way. Notice, they weren't worrying—they were worshiping—and God delivered them. Today, choose worship over worry and move forward into victory!

"God, thank You for Your sovereignty. You are greater than any army of challenges in my life. Help me to choose to worship You amidst my battles instead of worrying. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Does there seem to be a problem waiting for you no matter where you turn? Do you sometimes wonder if your dreams are ever going to come to pass? Maybe you've asked why God would allow you to struggle in your job, your relationships, your health, or some other area of life. Sometimes God allows us to go through challenges because He knows it's the struggle of life that builds strength in us. If God simply delivered us from every struggle, then we might not continue to grow and learn to trust Him. When you stretch your faith, endure, overcome and persevere through the difficult times, you'll begin to realize a greater level of joy, peace, victory, and abundance than you ever dreamed possible. Remember, God loves you too much to leave you where you are. He's preparing you for something better!

"God, thank You for giving me what You know I need. Help me to learn and grow through my struggles as I trust You to bring me out stronger than ever. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
