New Edition received two American Music Awards for Favorite Soul/R&B Band/Duo/Group (1987 and 1997).

They also received the Soul Train Award in 1989 for Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Album of the Year – Group, Band, or Duo (Heart Break).

In 1991 New Edition received "Hall Of Fame" at the Boston Music Awards.

In 2012, New Edition received the Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award.

On January 23, 2017, New Edition received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their contributions to the music industry.

Again In 2017, New Edition received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 BET Awards.

"Candy Girl" It was released as a single in late February 1983 and the song hit number one on the UK Singles Chart,becoming the 31st-best-selling single of the year. It also peaked at number 1 on the Hot Black Singles chart on May 14, 1983.

New Edition self title album reached #6 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Irish Albums Chart, and the R&B Albums Chart (where it peaked for five weeks).

New Edition made a cameo appearance in the 1985 film Krush Groove, in which they perform "My Secret (Didja Gitit Yet?)".

New Edition appeared on the TV series Knight Rider performing "Count me Out" on Season 4 Episode 11.

New Edition recorded their cover version of "Earth Angel" for the soundtrack to the 1986 film The Karate Kid Part II.

"If It Isn't Love" Its chart performance and well-received music video garnered the quintet their first nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 31st Grammy Awards in February 1989.

Heart Break spun off five singles: "If It Isn't Love", "You're Not My Kind of Girl", "Can You Stand the Rain", "Crucial", and "N.E. Heart Break". "Boys to Men" was later on released as a 6th single in September 24, 1991.

"Home Again" the album debuted on the US Billboard 200 at number one, becoming the group's first album to open at number one, selling 441,000 in its first week sales.

All six New Edition members performing at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1990, and song and music video for Bell Biv DeVoe's 1991 single "Word to the Mutha!" (which featured Brown, Gill, and Tresvant).

Bridges is the twelfth studio album by American recording artist Joe, released on June 24, 2014. It is his first album under his new label Plaid Takeover Entertainment after severing business ties with his longtime manager Kedar Massenburg.

The first single released from the album was "Love & Sex Pt. 2", which features singer Kelly Rowland. It debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 15,126 copies in the United States.

In its second week, the album dropped to number 40, selling 7,000 copies, bringing its total album sales to 80,000.

T.E.V.I.N. yielded two No. 1 R&B hits in "Tell Me What You Want Me to Do" and "Alone with You", and had several other hits.

"Round and Round" was the Prince-produced first single from R&B singer Tevin Campbell's debut album T.E.V.I.N.The song is also featured on the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack.The hit song was a success on both the pop and R&B charts peaking at No. 12 on the Hot 100 and No. 3 on the US R&B chart.

"Just Ask Me To" It was released in June 1991 as the second single from his debut album T.E.V.I.N. It hit the top 10 on the R&B chart, reaching number nine.The song featured rapper Chubb Rock and was also featured on the Boyz n the Hood soundtrack.

"Tell Me What You Want Me to Do" is the title of a number-one R&B single by singer Tevin Campbell. To date, the single is Campbell's biggest hit peaking at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending one week at number-one on the US R&B chart. The hit song is also Tevin's one and only Adult Contemporary hit.

"Goodbye" It was released in February 1992 as the fourth single from his debut album T.E.V.I.N.. It fared fairly well on the R&B charts climbing to number two,The music video for the song featured guest appearances by Tatyana Ali and Tyler Collins.

"Alone With You" The hit song is Tevin's sixth single off his debut album T.E.V.I.N. and second to reach number one on the R&B charts where it stayed for one week.

The success of the album also garnered Campbell his first two Grammy nominations, one in 1991 for Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance – Male (for "Round and Round"), and one in 1992 for the same award Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance – Male (for "Tell Me What You Want Me to Do").

The full music video for "Bad" is an 18-minute short film written by novelist and screenwriter Richard Price, shot by Michael Chapman, and directed by Martin Scorsese. The video was shot in Brooklyn over a 6-week period during November and December 1986.Roberta Flack supplied the voice of Michael Jackson's mother in the 18-minute short film for "Bad".

In the video, Jackson portrays a teenager named Darryl, who has just completed a term at an expensive private school. He returns to the city and takes the subway back to his neglected neighborhood. Darryl finds his home is empty where he is greeted by his old friends. The leader of the group is Mini Max (a then mostly unknown Wesley Snipes). At first, relations are friendly but slightly awkward. Then, the situation begins to deteriorate as the gang starts to realize how much Darryl has changed. They especially notice how uncomfortable he has become with their criminal activities. Darryl takes the gang to the subway station (Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets in Brooklyn) in an attempt to show his friends he is still "bad" by robbing an elderly man. He has a change of heart at the last minute and Mini Max chastises him, telling Darryl he's no longer bad. After more disrespect from Mini Max, the video cuts to Darryl and a group of street kids dancing while Darryl is seen performing "Bad". Darryl insists that Max is headed for a fall which is nearly Darryl's undoing. Eventually, Mini Max accepts that and after a final handshake, leaves Darryl in peace. At the end of the video, Darryl is left alone watching his gang leave.

At the 32nd Grammy Awards, Brown won Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "Every Little Step".

In 2015, Billboard ranked Don't Be Cruel at number 82 on its list of the Greatest of All Time Billboard 200 Albums.

Don't Be Cruel also garnered Brown two American Music Awards, a Soul Train Music Award and a People's Choice Award also a Grammy.

"Bobby" The album also reached number one on the Billboard R&B Albums chart, and reached the top 10 in Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden.

Brown received his second Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at the 35th Grammy Awards for the single "Humpin' Around".

In 1990, Brown was featured on the number-one hit "She Ain't Worth It" by Glenn Medeiros, making it his second number 1 hit on the pop chart.

Bobby is the only r&b singer to win 12 Boston Music Awards that's from Boston.
