Sam Raimi's reputation begins with EVIL DEAD, and for a lot of people that's more or less where it ends -- he's a horror guru. Tracking specifically the Evil Dead Trilogy, Darkman, and the Spider Man Trilogy, Raimi shows us that our heroes can often be as monstrous as the evil they fight against. They exist in worlds of darkness, and even when they're cracking wise they are tragic and sometimes assholes.

On the latest episode of Late Fees -- the Video Store boys explain how Sam Raimi is essentially the Godfather of the modern superhero flick, by comparing his creations (Ash and Darkman) to his greatest contribution (Spider Man).

It's time to see it's time to keep "Crooked Steven" or check him back into the video store.
