New data from Stats NZ shows that while many parts of the country are continuing to grow their population - some cities are shrinking. What does that mean for things like house prices, rents and rates in these areas? Money correspondent Susan Edmunds spoke to John Campbell.

National is facing an incursion from its traditional ally to vote strategically in the election, with Act urging voters to give them their party vote. New Zealand First is making the same pitch - and it's a strategy National is trying to push back on. Current polling suggests several senior National list MPs could lose their seats - including Nicola Willis and Paul Goldsmith. ACT leader David Seymour spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.

Commuter rail is returning to the South Island after the government announced a short-term investment. Regular rail services will start running from Rangiora and Rolleston to Christchurch by mid-next year. Not everyone is on board with the idea, with some questioning the timing of the announcement.
