Their story is powerful because it begins with Dio being born with a physical deformity—something that would make life challenging and difficult for any Burque kid. From a young age, Dio had to face challenges that helped forge the person he would become.

He was always a bold, LOUD bright light in any room, but that light was dimmed by a terrible motorcycle accident.  where he experienced severe brain damage with extensive memory loss And in many ways, I believe that’s where Vanessa’s story with Dio truly began—a story that would show us what true love, strength, and resilience are really all about.

So please join me for this incredible conversation with a local street legend and true hero here in the 505. This is also our longest conversation yet on the Roaches and Ramen Show, as we celebrate life, blessings, growth, and upgrades.

I take you back on the sacrifices my mother did when she was careless and dragging us on the public transportation in Tijuana in the mid and late 80's

Where it ties into my personal bus riding days just to make a buck.

I was shown that discipline is not a choice when you lack transportation , and that public transportation was never beneath me , when you are amongst the lives of perseverance with dedication that were grateful to have an option like the bus to get to their jobs and destinations.

So i peel my onion once more to reflect on the early challenges that I observe as a child, and how it helped me navigate my similar woes in the future.

Roaches and Ramen: Bonus Episode — "The Last of Gen Z"
