Sam and Jim explore the Philadelphia comedy scene and book end three killer shows with a ton of great bites at local bars and eateries. They go to the Helium Comedy Club in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood to see headliners Laurie Kilmartin, Sam Tallent, and Greg Fitzsimmons.

All that laughter sure built up an appetite, so they check out the best food and drink Rittenhouse has to offer with a Nom Nom Ramen lunch, brunch at The Continental Mid-town Diner, happy-hour drinks and apps at Village Whiskey and Restaurant Aleksandar, and an epic English pub dinner experience at The Dandelion. Closing the night with Van Leeuwen Ice Cream sounded like the cherry on top of a great night in Philly.

Sam and Jim take a deep dive on Delirious, Murphy’s classic firsthour-long stand-up comedy special with the iconic red leather jumpsuit, all theimpressions, F-words, and bits that you definitely could not get away withtoday. 

They bounce from the live stage to the sound stage and check out Trading Places, one of Eddie Murphy’s first feature comedy films co-starring a young Dan Aykroyd, where we laugh along as two psychotic rich old men destroy the life of a promising colleague over a $1 bet, Eddie Murphy thinks everyone is gay and out to get him, and the 80’s generally vomit all over the audience for 90-minutes.

Check out Eddie Murphy’s Delirious and Trading Places if you’re a comedy fan and haven’t experienced these two gems from 1983, they’ll make you laugh, cringe, and leave you thankful that the 80’s are far in the rearview mirror.
