In the final episode of Road to Reality, we have a new school representative from Survivor Season 42, our first veterinarian, our first Canadian, Omar Zaheer. We catch up with Omar while he’s just one year out, his season aired in spring of 2022. We discuss where he sees himself along the path in comparison to those who have come before him on this series. We talk more about the immediate aftermath, what it’s like to watch Survivor, be recognized by fans and how it impacts our lives back home. We talk about his path to becoming an exotic animal veterinarian and why it’s so important to know who you are before playing Survivor

Episode 9 features Dino Paulo, the Sole Survivor of Survivor South Africa: Return of the Outcasts (Season 9) who also previously competed on Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island (Season 8). Dino takes us through the experience of playing Survivor SA and how it compares and contrasts with US Survivor. He is able to describe the psychological experience of going through casting, losing and winning Survivor with exceptional insights. We find how playing Survivor in two different countries is different in a few ways, and yet how incredibly similar it is as a human experience of a lifetime.

Episode 8 features Wendell Holland, contestant from Winners at War and Winner of Survivor Ghost Island. Wendell takes us through a 10 year journey starting in 2013 when he sent in his first Survivor audition tape way back in 2013. We talk through Wendell’s casting attempts, about winning Survivor, his very different experience on WaW in 2020 and the backlash that came with it. We discuss the CBS Diversity Initiative, doing cool stuff with Brice + Wen Present, and recently becoming a parent.

In episode 7, Davie Rickenbacker from Survivor David v. Goliath talks us through how he ended up as a public health professional working at CDC during a pandemic, how being an extrovert means something different once you enter the world of reality tv, growing up as middle child of three boys in South Carolina, bringing his childhood dreams to life in adulthood, and how he’s navigating being an influencer online and in Atlanta, and of course - his experience of being on Survivor and his specific reasons for wanting to play again in the new era.

In episode 6, we speak with Gabby Pascuzzi from Season 37, David vs. Goliath. Gabby is currently getting her PhD in Social Psychology, a life experience that has given her the expertise to reflect upon the Survivor experience through a unique lens. Gabby talks about being an “emotional woman” on Survivor, mentoring “new school” Survivors becoming what Gabby has coined a Survivor Elder. She catches us up on her life outside of Survivor along the way.

In Episode 5 of Road to Reality, we get to chat with Peih-Gee Law. We know Peih-Gee from her Survivor gameplay in Survivor: China and Survivor: Cambodia. In this episode, we talk about how she feels about her more well rounded edit, seeing life through rose colored glasses, how she’s moved from being a lone wolf to a creator of communities, Peih-Gee’s 5 keys to living a happy life, getting lucky and being in control of your own life experience.
