    Description
A handful of inspired men gave us our freedom. They cannot preserve it for us. That responsibility rests with the individual American. And we must now face the harsh truth that the objectives of communism are being steadily advanced because many of us do not readily recognize the means used to advance them. The communist, meanwhile, does not allow himself the luxury of inertia. He is intensely active. Because of him, the menace of communism in this country will remain a menace until the American people make themselves aware of the techniques of communism. No one who truly understands what it really is can be taken in by it. Yet the individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists. The American mind simply has not come to a realization of the evil which has been introduced into our midst. It rejects even the assumption that human creatures could espouse a philosophy which must ultimately destroy all that is good and decent.

    …

Those men of the frontier knew that awareness of danger is the first requisite if one is to combat that danger with any degree of effectiveness. Until the American citizen learns for himself the nature of the present menace, communism will continue to be a deadly danger.

The conscientious citizen asks, “How can one be sure what the truth is? How can it be winnowed out of the welter of propaganda which the communists and their apologists spew forth?”

All that I can say is—and I repeat what I have said many times — the American citizen must hew to a line comprised of a little skepticism, a lot of knowledge, monumental faith, and an everlasting desire to get the facts. He must ascertain for himself what the facts are. He must accept nothing less than the facts— neither the majority version nor the minority version. He must view all the evidence until the face of truth is plain. [emphasis added]

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

What does it mean to be an American? What is the fundamental nature, the ‘DNA’ of an American? The very question exposes the fallacious tendency to conflate who we once were as a nation, with who we are now as a nation. I surmise who we are now, sadly, is a far cry from who we once were. As to who we’ve been made into:

    *
Who ol' school bad guys want us to think we are:

    *
‘global citizens’ - ‘thinking globally and acting locally’

    *
technocratic things in the ‘Internet of Things’

    *
    worker bees in the hive

    *
    transhumanist -> posthumanist Singularity / pre-Tribulation loving Fukuyama-ites

    *
Administrative State Fourth Branch, Amendment XIV ‘UNITED STATES CITIZENs’

but it’s worse — and has been for ±100 years…

In the technically crude past, the illiterate Have-nots were sweated and overworked. It was easy to find toil to keep them all busy. Such surplus multitudes are wanted no more. Toil is no longer marketable. Machines can toil better and with less resistance.
    H. G. Wells, The New World Order (1939) Chapter V. Unsated Youth

I submit that an ample definition of who we once were — and still should be — can be sufficiently gleaned from a series of John Adams’ correspondence, namely:

    * John Adams, letter to Hezekiah Niles (February 13, 1818)
    * John Adams, letters to William Tudor (June, July, August, September 1818)

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? … The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If … if … We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.

Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956 (1973)
From the Mueller Investigation / #Russiagate nonsense, to the three high-profile ‘apparent’ suicides in one week, to the illogical, draconian Rockland County, NY crackdown, treating the unvaccinated children like lepers — irrespective of overall health. Everywhere you look, there are strange, contradictory stories with seemingly no ‘good’ or legitimate answers — which sounds an awful lot like ‘learned helplessness’ inducing Vladislav Surkov-styled avant garde theatre politics.

In the midst of all this chaos and nonsense we hear what’s become the usual ‘crisis management’ clamor of, “There’s no time to pause and reflect — we’ve got to [re]act now!” In reality, people should be stopping and asking — and demanding answers to — legitimate questions, as today’s discussion highlights. For instance, with regard to the Rockland County, NY announcement, why aren’t people stopping to ask:

    * Why the emphasis on quarantining the unvaccinated — irrespective of overall health — when those sick and contagious — including the recently vaccinated — pose the greatest potential risk? Isn’t that the opposite of what should be advocated?
    * What is the significant threat all ‘unvaccinated children’ pose specifically, and what is the evidence of that threat?
    * Why are unvaccinated children quarantined, while (all) the vaccinated, who often shed highly contagious live virus for weeks, are allowed to roam free?
    * Why are those with a ‘legitimate medical exemption’ exempted from the quarantine of the unvaccinated? What appreciable medical benefit does that offer the community?

Rash, hysterical decision making has never proven wise, and this is no exception. It’s becoming increasingly difficult, if not impossible to argue something else, possibly more sinister and nefarious is at work in the public square. And it’s high time we pause, reflect for a moment, and take honest stock in America, “that we may be neither led nor driven blindfolded to irretrievable destruction,” as
