While at the core of his teachings is the recognition that there is great value in the diversity of all spiritual traditions found in this world; he focuses on the Jonang-Shambhala tradition. Kalachakra (wheel of time) teachings contain profound methods to harmonize our external environment with the inner world of body and mind, ultimately bringing about the golden age of Peace and Harmony (Dzokden).

In part two of this series, Khentrul Rinpoche encourages us to reflect on life rather than simply following others and samsaric values.

By then applying and stabilising knowledge of the Dharma to go beyond custom and culture, we develop greater awareness. When this awareness is accompanied by mindfulness and vigilance, we can bring balance to our negativities, transforming them into beneficial qualities, eliminating our weaknesses and building our strengths.

In this series of six teachings, Khentrul Rinpoche demonstrates how the Buddha Dharma, taught over 2,500 years ago, it is still completely relevant to our modern times.

In this first session, while remaining true to the traditional content of Tibetan Buddhism, Rinpoche discusses how we can better understand the Four Convictions of Renunciation by expanding our common sense. By increasing our knowledge and awareness of the Dharma, we can learn to improve our view and to challenge our ideas of what it means to live a more meaningful life in this modern world.

You do not need to be a rocket scientist or have studied this philosophy for many years to understand the basics of what these teachings are pointing to. While of course to fully understand the nuance of all the philosophical debates and arguments takes time to unpack, the essence, the basic meaning can be captured quite clearly and quickly.
