Roasted Podcast

Hello legends and welcome back to the podcast.

Today I had the pleasure of chatting with one of the nicest guys to ever play our great game, Former Rooster, Raider and St Helens Saint, Sia Soliola.

Sia has done so much in our game. He has played over 300 games, played in Grand Finals in both Australia and England. Represented his country of birth as well as captaining the country of his heritage.

But it’s what he does off the field that makes him special. His charity work earning him the 2019 Ken Stephen medal, and now a role with the Raiders mentoring and helping young players coming through the grade.

It was an awesome chat with a legend and I hope you enjoy.

This episode is proudly brought to you by Volando Tequila. You can find them at volandotequila.com, and on all socials @volandotequila

This is the greatest week for a Rugby League fan. GRAND FINAL WEEK IS HERE.

We can’t wait to see what this week brings.

To help us have a look at what Sunday will bring, I have brought in one of the members of the Panthers team to last win the premiership in 2003. Scott Sattler.

Son of a legend who carved out his own career in the NRL, winning a premiership and representing his state.

Scott has been covering the Q-Cup for Channel 9 this year, and will be covering the Grand Final for SEN.

I chat with about all that, where the teams can win, and his predictions.

If I can just ask a favour. If you enjoy the chat, can you share it on social media and give us a rating on your podcast app. This helps the podcast get seen by more people and encourages new guys like myself to keep going.

Ok enough of the begging, enjoy the chat with Scotty. Cheers legends

Hey team and welcome back to the pod.

Today I was joined by the loveable duo of Campbell and Dan who make up the “Whats New In The Castle” Podcast.

Some up and comers in the social media scene amongst a raft of content creators in the steel city, i was drawn to their humour, pisstakes of each other, and love for the game of rugby league.

We talk how and why they started, who are their inspirations, the mass amount of content creators in Newcastle, and what it’s like as a Newcastle fan living in NEWY.

You can catch them on all socials @whatsnewinthecastle.

Hope you enjoy the chat and talk soon.

Music again courtesy of the band Chutney. Check them out on all streaming sites.

Hello again Roasties and thanks very much for jumping on to listen.

As many fans from the early days of the page remember our love affair with the Great Jeremy latimore.

Stemming from an on field incident where a swift jab to Cameron Smith’s jatz crackers saw him fall down in agony and created a meme that echoed through the NRL community.

The GOAT was born.

While playing over 182 games in the NRL, he knows the GOAT moniker came not from his sporting ability, but his character on and off the field, and ask anyone who played with him, he was the guy everyone wanted in their sheds.

I was glad to sit down and have a chat with the great man, and hope you enjoy it.

Talk soon.

Hey Roasties

Welcome back to the podcast.

One of my objectives with the pod is to chat with other content creators in the NRL media scene, today I am joined by Georgia, Marlee and Keeley, who make up the team behind the Chicks and Balls podcast.

Only 20 plus episodes into their journey, they cover a range of sports from the fans perspective.

I speak to them about their beginnings, their challenges, and what the future looks like for them.

If you are just starting in the social media landscape and looking for some inspiration, then I highly recommend hearing what they have to say.

You can find the girls at:

Enjoy.

In this episode I was joined by Olympian Discus thrower Matthew Denny.

Matt is a 2 x time Olympian, and a Commonwealth games Silver medalist in Hammer Throw,

His journey started in a small QLD town called Allora, and we chatted about his beginnings in a small town playing Rugby League, to the biggest stage in athletics.

Matt has achieved so much in such a short time. A youth World champion at 17, Silver medalist at the commonwealth games at 22, and a fourth place finish in his second Olympics at just 25 years old.

I was honoured to have Matt as my first guest, and I hope you enjoy the chat as much as I did.

My name is Dean Messiter, owner and creator of The NRL Roast social media sites.

This...is my intro.
