You’ll hear the guys talk about the band overcoming life-and-death adversity through Chuck surviving a coma and regaining his speech and leg function, and Rob recovering from throat cancer. Rob Derhak is the bass guitar player and a founding member of the jam band Moe, and Chuck Garvey is one of two guitarists for the band. Moe. is an American jam rock band, formed at the University at Buffalo in 1989. Moe established themselves as a favorite of the 1990s jam band and improvisational rock scene, and they’ve played at venues of all sizes all throughout the country. Moe is also known for their charitable works, donating money raised from benefit shows to charities aiming to help with causes ranging from natural disaster relief to autism.
