Had the pleasure and honor to speak with Dr. Ron Cytron, a professor in the Computer Science Department at Washington University in St. Louis, on his experiences being a professor, including his path to academia, tips on teaching, the job market, research, and much more. He went to Rice University for undergrad and got his PhD from University of Illinois. He spent some time in industry working for IBM before becoming a professor at WashU.
Thank you very much Professor Ron Cytron! This was very informative and enlightening. You went above and beyond for me and I am very grateful for that! Based on this conversation, I feel more confident in my goal to become a professor.
If you're interested in becoming a professor or what goes into the job, this is a great podcast for you!
