At 14 years old Cory had already represented Australia in the BMX World Championships and was training hard for the National Championships when he suffered an incomplete spinal injury resulting in paraplegia.
Cory spent the subsequent months in hospital working as hard as anyone possibly could, setting and smashing goals along the way. On the 9th March Cory was able to walk from the hospital with the aid of crutches and then set himself a huge goal of being able to walk 5km completely unaided in 6 months from leaving Princess Margaret Hospital.
The 9th September 2018 marks this date and whilst Cory may not physically be able to make the distance, he is determined to give it his best shot!
We would love to see as many people as possible, able bodied or not, young or old take part in this event,
Whether you walk one step, 5kms or wheel about in a mobility aide, you will be helping Cory and others like him in his situation.
All proceeds will be going towards Cory's Rehabilitation costs which are huge.
There will be Market Stalls, Bouncy Castle, Sausage Sizzle and much much more!
