Robert Palmer | I Didn't Mean To Turn You On (Change Request ReVision)
For this ReVision, I tuned up one of my favorite tunes from roller skating days.
A classic Flyte Tyme production, this song was originally performed by Cherrelle in 1984, during the massive Minneapolis Production Exodus of the early 80s, written by The Minneapolis Masters, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis.
Robert Palmer recorded this cover version one year later and it was released as the fifth single from his 1985 album Riptide. Also, Colette covered the song in 2005 for her album Hypnotized.
This instrumental version features the classic Minneapolis orchestrations, employing heavy DX7 E.Pianos, Oberheim DX, MiniMoog Leads, Oberheim OB-X Brass, and Roland Jupiter-8 Bass Parts doubling the live electric bass.
