Rob’s Discovery episodes

  • Season 1 - Episode 1: Coming Home to the Land

In this first episode of Coming Home to the Land, Rob Handy and Beth Calverley sit together in the yurt at the wild edge of home to begin a new monthly rhythm of conversation.

They share what is stirring on the land at this time of year, reflect on the themes unfolding in their own lives, and speak about the quiet work of tending both soil and self. The episode includes a seasonal act of service, a poem of the month, and mindful garden sounds woven throughout.

This is an invitation to slow down, to listen, and to notice what is calling you back to the land.

  • The Neglected Forest Garden

What happens to a forest garden when you don't maintain it for eight months? Rob temporarily abandoned his garden in August 2022 and now comes back to it the following April to see how it's doing. What has been lost? What has thrived and what has survived? Join Rob as he takes us on a 44-minute tour of his once-flourishing 2.5-acre agroforestry project and discover what specimens have made it through one of the coldest and wettest English winters in recent history.
