This week on the podcast we chat with Tania Eden-Piñeiro and Juan Pablo Higuera with HACER (Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment thru Research). HACER, founded in 1988, is the only Latino research nonprofit in the Midwest. HACER designs and develops programs that help people thrive in Minnesota, with initiatives focused around education, empowerment, health, leadership, and entrepreneurship. On the show today we chat about HACER and why Tania and Juan Pablo were drawn to this mission. We also talk about HACER’s upcoming pilot program in Rochester, called Creando Ando. This program, which will run in June and July of this year, is meant to instill self-confidence and entrepreneurial thinking in Latino entrepreneurs through design thinking methodology. Individuals interesting in participating in this free program should fill out HACER’s survey by June 19th. As a Rochester Rising podcast first, today’s show is recorded both in Spanish and English. Take some time to listen in and learn more about entrepreneurial activity taking place in Rochester.
