Rock Chalk Podcast

While the week started out well for the Kansas Jayhawks, the weekend was just as bad. Andy and Kyle spend the bulk of the episode talking about the Iowa State game and why it isn't time to panic. They also talk about the state of the conference, some similarities to prior teams, and what to expect from the Jayhawks moving forward. Plus, a quick women's update and some hints about where the football team will be playing next week.

It's been an up-and-down week for the Kansas Jayhawks, with an unexpected loss to West Virginia over the weekend for the men and two road losses to ranked teams for the women sandwiched by two blowout wins for the men. Andy and Kyle cover the men's games and a Kansas Football departure. Then Andy is joined by Jamie Steyer Johnson, the radio color commentator for the Iowa State Women's Basketball team to recap the recent action for the Jayhawks before previewing the rematch between the Jayhawks and Cyclones in Lawrence.

Despite the road upset at UCF on Wednesday, it was a fantastic week for the Kansas Jayhawks on multiple fronts. Andy and Kyle break down why the UCF loss wasn't as bad as you might think, how the win over Oklahoma might tell us more moving forward, and which of the two wins for the women were a bigger deal. But first, they talk about the big news for the football team, as Lance Leipold turns down the Washington job to stay the head coach at Kansas.

The Kansas Jayhawks had mixed results this week, as the women's basketball team were done in by second half three-point barrages twice and the men won the conference opener thanks to a controversial (but correct) flagrant foul call late in the game. Andy and Kyle break it all down. Plus, a brief look around the conference before looking ahead for these teams.

Andy and Kyle break down all the big stories, including the lack of Kansas players in the transfer portal, the main targets on the recruiting trail, the stadium construction and potential playing locations for next season. Then they look at both basketball teams, including a dominant win over Central Arkansas for the women and a huge come-from-behind victory for the men at Indiana.
