It’s the sustainable wedding episode 🙌 . It’s quite a short one. But we have a lot to say.
Next week (as this airs) we are launching Recycle My Wedding. A platform that enables you to buy and sell pre-loved wedding items. From outfits to accessories and decor there is something for everyone on Recycle. We will be donating 10%of every listing fee on Recycle My Wedding to Trees For Life. It feels good to give back doesn't it? And it really does make a difference to the environment.
It's difficult to have integrity as a brand when we know that weddings are a huge contributor to CO2 emissions. Recycle is our way of trying to change this and offset as many weddings as we can.
Want some figures?
We know you like facts.
An average UK wedding can create as much as 14.5 tonnes of C02 gas. With 250K weddings in the UK a year that is 3,625,000 tonnes of C02 gas being emitted per annum. That’s more than you could imagine isn’t it? And we want to do something about it. Hence Recycle My Wedding. For 1000 dresses sold via Recycle we would be able to plant 166 trees which would in turn offset a further 27.6 tonnes of C02 emissions. And it helps you have the sustainable wedding of your dreams.
Check out Recycle here and get involved!
