This week Pastor Joey tells a story from Daniel 2 about King Nebuchadnezzar's perplexing dream and Daniel's powerful interpretation. In the midst of rising and falling nations and leaders, Daniel gives the people of God hope for ultimate victory: a kingdom not built by human hands.

Politics is all about power. All parties agree that gaining political power is the best way to bring change. But when Jesus came he didn't need Caesar to build his kingdom. He came with a power greater than political power: humble, sacrificial, self-giving love. Rethinking our politics in light of the cross, we see that the weakness of God is actually stronger than all the power of this world.

This week we start a brand new series about politics! Far beyond a person from any nation or party, the Bible shows us that all power and leadership belong to God and his Messiah, Jesus. The risen and ascended Christ has been given first place in everything. As a result he is the only one who deserves our allegiance.

As we conclude this series, we read the final verses in the book of Acts. But Luke isn't ending the story, he's inviting us onto the stage. Now it's our turn to take up the task and bear witness to Jesus in our city. As a church-planting church, we are establishing permanent outposts of God's kingdom to our city.
