Episode 007 Roger Waters

This week begins with an exceptional songwriter and performer Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame. Famous for being the brains behind The Wall film and concept album, there is a lot of his personal history playing out in the songs, and he’s also very sharp politically which makes for very interesting songwriting. Not your average boy meets girl love songs or she ran off with him stuff, there is a lot more depth to Roger Waters’ songs. The Amused To Death album is a fine example of political and emotive writing. He can certainly get your blood boiling and have you rallying against injustice.

And not just lyrically is he brilliant but musically he creates worlds. The scope and grandeur are sometimes just stunning and you wonder how he could have imagined it - which is then inspiring and intimidating - for a fellow songwriter at least.

So we have an interesting rock relation journey this week that takes us through some very well known names.
