Trevor from Brewery X hinted yesterday that they were more than just IPAs and beer flavored beer. Hard Seltzers are a huge part of what brings all the folks to the tasting room. Today we get our first taste into that world with their Huckleberry Hard Seltzer that is fruity and jammy but still crazy drinkable!

Another new spot in San Diego doing it right is the Anaheim brewery known as Brewery X who just opened a brand new tasting room on Harbor Island. After yesterday's Big Game it's nice to start the week off light with an extremely crushable Mexican Style Lager that is S.O.K...

At the Weir Beer tasting room, you're gonna find a little something for everyone. Applying their creativity not just to beer but also their seltzers with this high ABV Hard Seltzer called Mojo Jojo Mojito. It's a 10% AVB Hard seltzer that takes flavor inspirations from the mojito cocktail.

This has been months in the makings! When Wier Beer first dropped by the studio they told tales of the legend that is Tommy Pickles, now we finally get to taste this next level Dill Pickle Hard Seltzer.

Ales for ALS has been an amazing partner for breweries all around San Diego. With their yearly collaboration beers dropping during May (ALS Awareness Month), Weir Beer hadn't opened their doors in May of '24 but it didn't stop them from taking that hop blend and making their own ALS beer as soon as they could! Katie Bar Pale Ale uses the 2024 hop blend with a custom Weir malt backbone and the two make a crushable hoppy pale. Kyndall also tells us where the name Katie Bar comes from and why it's so important for Weir to back ALS awareness.

Oh Gawd, it's a pepper beer...or is it? Hayden from Wier Beer has a brewing history with pepper beers, but he also noticed during his time, most people would mix a small amount of the pepper beer with a clean lager. All the mixing has been removed with Double Dog Dare Ya Jalapeno Lager, all that amazing pepper taste with zero heat and a clean finish, a easy beer to sit down and have a few of!

Today we kick off February putting the spotlight on San Diego breweries that are doing in right and we start with the energetic couple behind North County SD's Weir Beer. First pour their "tip of the cap" to the American Institution that is High Life with their own version called Rocko's Modern High Life.

Ending the week with Andy from Horse Soldier, strong! I'm talking ABV, out biggest sip yet at over 110 Proof Barrel Strength Bourbon Whiskey, we pop the top and pour one out to kick off the weekend.

Andy from Horse Soldier knows the way to my heart. The Old Fashioned has eternally been the cocktail of choice.
