I try not to pick favorites during the week but hands down, from the first sip I had of Malahat's Spied Rum, I wanted to get Ken in for a show.  At the end of the week he doesn't disappoint. 

Another one of Ken from Malahat trips inspired another spirit, this time how to took wild black tea and crafted a rum around it.

Yesterday Ken spoke about how he crafted his Rye before his Bourbon, today we get into his bourbon and he approaches the flavors he wants to express.

Ken from Malahat Spirits starts this week strong with one of his favorites, a self described "Rye-Guy" who crafts one mean 100% Rye Whiskey

Today it kicks off!  The Wet Hop Fest is underway at O'Brien's with wet hop beers from all over!  One of the shining achievements is this beer we end the week with, a tribute to Tom's favorite truck, an all Amarillo fresh hop DOUBLE IPA.

A tribute to the man who saved the Centennial hop!  Tom tells a great story about how Mr. Olsen went rogue and kept alive what he believed was a fantastic hop.

I didn't sign up for a beer called "Death Tongue" but Tom didn't let me down when he brought me Jalapeno Gold.  It's surprisingly more balanced than a beer with habanero should be, plus the addition of fresh Oregon Chinook hops...the hops really tie the room together.

Fresh hop season day 2!  Another creation from Nickel Beer using fresh Strada hops from Oregon.  This hop gives off similar vibes to Mosaic but with a tad more earthiness and the way Tom uses it makes this a crushingly good IPA made "his way."
