In the story of the Grinch, the Grinch thought he could stop Christmas from coming. He thought that if he took away the stuff that came with the presentation of Christmas; the who stockings, the presents, the who pudding, the roast beast and even the Christmas tree the Who's would have nothing to celebrate. The mistake the Grinch made was that he mistook the presentation of Christmas for the substance of Christmas.
