Checking in this week from my favorite city that I've never been to is Mike McInnes, guitarist for the Pittsburgh based pop-punk rockers Old Neon. Mike tells us all about his 10 year old Golden Retriever Jade who turned him from a reluctant dog owner to a dedicated dog dad. Great talk about the transformative powers of a canine companion.
Old Neon just released their brand new EP Resolution on May 23rd and is available on your preferred streaming platforms. The EP was produced by Matt Brasch and mixed by Nick Steinborn (both of The Wonder Years) and mastered by Will Yip. To keep up on all things Old Neon visit their website at oldneonmusic.com
Mike gave a shout out to his groomer Sam McClure who keeps dogs looking their best through Friendly Paws Pet Resort and, their daycare for dogs under 40 lbs, Friendly Paws Littles. To see her works of dog beautification check out her Instagram @groomingwithsam

Cory will be bringing his brand of Haggard-like country meets straight-up arena rock anthems to a number of festivals this summer in Canada. For dates and tickets visit corymarks.com

Through a generous introduction from a previous guest we are happy to welcome Dan & Shay drummer Andrew Cook to the show. Andrew grew up with Newfoundlands but found himself downsizing as an adult with his two current dogs Boogie, a 6 year old chihuahua mix, and Butters, a 6 year old Pomeranian/Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. Andrew is not only a friend of a major canine celebrity but seemingly friends with well over 30 dogs that he knows by name. Very fun episode from a true "dog guy".
When not behind the kit for Dan & Shay, Andrew runs a design business, EZCO, that has created t-shirts and graphics for a litany of platinum-selling bands like blink-182, Coldplay and My Chemical Romance to name a few. He's also co-owner of The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club and Elegy Coffee in Nashville.
It should come as no surprise that Andrew gave his shout out to Wags & Walks who receive a lot of well deserved love from our Nashville based guests. Wags & Walks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a dedicated community of dog lovers working to reduce euthanasia in local shelters and increase awareness of rescue dogs being wonderful pets. What started as a comment on one of our Instagram reels resulted in discovering another dog loving artist that had a very interesting story to share. Happy to bring you our conversation with Istanbul bred DJ and producer ELIF who navigated months of red tape to bring her Istanbul born Jack Russel terrier Bambam to live with her in Barcelona. Great talk covering being a single dog mum, their daily routine, Bambam's fly hunting skills and much more.
