Episode 005: Bringing Big Sexy Back – Coaching Offensive Line
Celebrate, celebrate, celebrate the offensive lineman in the world. We need these guys. If you are a High School coach you are coaching tomorrow’s leaders. No one is more qualified to lead than a young man with a healthy offensive line education. These guys are sacrificial warriors. They are heroes.
Join Coach Davis and his guest Alex Navarro as they discuss how to develop and celebrate the offensive line. While Coach Davis’ coaching life has revolved around the spread offense, there are lessons here for any coach of the bigs up front: treat them like athletes, teach them how to build a nutrition plan, start in the classroom, and utilize film every day.

Episode 004: Not Soft Skills – Mindfulness & Football
Football is a chaotic game, and that chaos often leads to wild swings of emotion. One of the most valuable staff members you can bring on is someone who can teach young athletes how to manage their emotions amid the chaos.
Coach Bronson Frye joins the podcast today to share tools we can use to transform the athletic field into a training ground for life. Coach Frye, a yoga instructor turned football coach, has been part of a state championship team and continues to guide young people on their journeys beyond football. He brings us one of the most compelling “why we need sports” discussions to date.
While Rocketboost Coaching is a football-focused podcast, this episode is a great listen for coaches in any sport. Be sure to check out the “Nine-Breath System” Coach Frye uses to help guide successful teams throughout his tenure as a high school football coach.

Coaching QBs to Play With Conviction
A quarterback with conviction can turn a bad play call into a good one—and a good play call into a great one. On the other hand, a quarterback lacking conviction can contribute to a less-than-ideal football experience.
Today on the show, Coach Davis dives into how to teach quarterbacks to play—and live—with conviction. He’s joined by his former podcasting partner, Conor Feckley, to discuss the relationship between the Head Coach and the Quarterback Coach. Together, they break down how to develop young athletes playing the most important position in sports.
Note: This isn’t a “scheme” podcast, per se. While schemes will be discussed, the focus is on creating the best possible experience for quarterbacks in your program.
Oh, and of course, a little Super Bowl talk too.

The football coaching staff is a reflection of leadership—the good, the bad, and the ugly. Crafting a staff is an art, a science, and an adventure. Building, growing, and expanding a staff is a challenging process, and no single podcast can provide all the answers. Former coach Timbo B. Davis shares insights from his decade-and-a-half journey working with coaching staffs he would later call “family.”
Joining Timbo today is Coach Walter Harmon, a true leader of men. Having spent much of his life in the business world, Coach Harmon brings strategies that are both relevant and practical for creating a coaching staff that feels welcomed and at home. Drawing on decades of experience in youth and high school football coaching, he lays the groundwork for hiring, growth, and continuous improvement.
This episode promises to be an enjoyable listen as we share stories and actionable strategies to help craft a unique and powerful high school football coaching experience.
