After hearing this trombonist play first trombone in Mahler’s Symphony No 3, we secured an interview with him to learn how he weaves his love for music into both classical and jazz. When not in the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas in his tux and just-polished black leather shoes delighting and moving the audience, he’s found in t-shirt, jeans locally-branded baseball cap and tennis shoes pumping his trombone and moving folks to dance nearby. Marques gives a sneak peek into his upcoming concert ‘Mutants’ and the orchestra’s full throttle ‘Rachmaninoff Rocks’ this weekend under the baton of Michael Francis.
