This week we will be studying 2 Samuel 9 and the kindness King David showed to King Saul's grandson Mephibosheth (say that 5 times fast). When you read the text, notice how eager David is to show this kindness - he is taking the initiative. Why is that? (give special attention to v. 1 and 3) Also, what risk is David taking in doing this? How are his actions towards an enemy's descendants different or surprising in that world at that time? 

This week we continue our study in 2 Samuel 6:12-23 with a look at worship. Read the text and list all the ways David and the Israelites worshiped. Why were they worshiping with such passion and joy? Why should we? What was Michal's problem? Do you relate to her? Try to understand David's response. 

This week we examine one of King David's first acts as the new King of Israel. Read 2 Samuel 6:1-15. What was David saying by making this the first thing he did? What mistakes were made? How does this story parallel with how you and I should be living today?

This week we begin a new series studying 2 Samuel. We will be examining the life of King David. His road to the throne was a difficult one. King Saul, driven by murderous jealousy, made David into a fugitive - pursuing him, trying to take his life for years. Yet, in all the time, David remained faithful to the Lord due in no small part to a habit he picked up in the wilderness. Take a look at 1 Samuel 23:3; 30:8; 2 Samuel 2:1; 5:19, 23; 21:3. What do all of these have in common? What does this teach us about our relationship with God today?

This week we conclude our series out of Philippians with a close look at Philippians 4:4-13. Take a moment to read the text - what does it mean to rejoice in the Lord? Why can/should we do this always? Why does Paul repeat it? In this text what practical steps does Paul give us that can help us rejoice in the Lord? Do you rejoice in the Lord? 

Rejoice in the Lord! This week we continue to look at Paul's letter to the Philippians see the importance of these 4 words: Rejoice in the Lord! There are things on the prowl that can kill joy and cut us off from its source. Read Ch3 and join us Sunday!

This week we look at Philippians 2:12-18. We will be discussing what it means to be made complete in Christ - while you're here on earth. Read the text along with Philippians 1:6 and consider what God calls you to do and how He will help you become whole in Christ.

This week we continue our study of Paul's letter to the Philippians in Philippians 2:1-11. We will be considering what it means to think like Christ and how that can affect both our individual joy and our unity as a church. Read the text as you prayerfully examine your own life for areas in which you may need to renew your way of thinking to be more like Christ.

This week we will be discussing what it means to live as one worthy of the Gospel, or, as a citizen of Heaven. Have you ever thought about all the different roles you fill and how they affect your day to day life? Whether its husband, father, wife, mother, son, daughter, employee, volunteer or even citizen, the roles we fill have a significant impact on the way we live our lives. In Philippians 1:27 Paul instructs us to live lives worthy of the Gospel. The language he uses is indicative of someone who is a citizen of a specific location. So, as you go about your day, ask yourself, "Am I living first and foremost as a citizen of Heaven? How would my life be different if I focused every day on allowing the Gospel of Jesus to be the guide by which all my decisions and interactions are governed?"

This week we pick up where we left off in Philippians 1:12-26. We will be studying Paul's reassurance to his Christian family in Philippi as they are surely worried about his imprisonment. Read the text with a mind toward what Paul says makes his suffering worth it. How is Paul able to maintain joy? What matters most to him
