I still love Malcolm Gladwell as a writer, and will continue to buy his books. He is fantastic at his craft, but this debate showed his absolute weakness as a debater and why so many people can't stand and don't trust weak kneed liberals. Instead of arguing facts, they insult, misrepresent and humiliate.

This is not about the debate topic, but how Murray and Taibbi crushed Gladwell and Goldberg. It was a virtuoso performance by Murray and Taibbi, but this is more about how and why Gladwell lost. This is a master class in how to lose a debate, and a textbook example of techniques that so many so called progressives use on campus and in the public realm.

Whoa, every single high school and college debating class should watch the debate. This was a fun one to do!! I'll be doing more on politics!!!

Just watched the Ken Burns PBS documentary on Ernest Hemingway. In this episode, I cover the book that started it all, WH Hudson's "Purple Land", carpe diem, Robin Williams, Joseph Cambell, following your bliss, and Hemingway's great breakout novel, The Sun Also Rises.

Just watched Kinnick - The Documentary by Iowa filmmaker, Scott Siepker, the Iowa Nice Guy.  

Kinnick remains the University of Iowa's only Heisman Trophy winner.  He is one of the most famous and well known Iowans.

At 48, I have finally read the book Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger.  

For whatever reason, it did not make it into my high school reading list and so I finally have remedied that.

The United States is one step or miscalculation from a hot war in Europe.

There a lot of reasons US Policy makers have used to provide military support to Ukraine, but by far, the most prominent is the Munich Peace Settlement of 1938.

Largely viewed now as a disaster, in the Munich Peace Conference, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain made a peace deal with the devil himself, Adolf Hitler.  In exchange for an agreement not to invade other countries, France and Britain coerced Czechoslovakia to concede its Sudetenland territory to Germany.

We all know what happened after that.  It's now criticized as naive, idealistic, and bolstering aggression.  

It is now used as the primary precedent to arm Ukraine.  If they are not armed, and our defeated,  Russia will invade Europe and be on our doorsteps next.

Is the situation now similarly similar to 1938?  Is it even relevant?  Or it a giant red herring?  

In this episode, I explore that issue.

Geopolitical Expert and Hipster Peter Zeihan is seemingly everywhere relating to U.S. Foreign Policy on the Russia-Ukraine War.

He has an interesting take on nukes: yes, the risk of nukes is there, but only if Russian wins and defeats Ukraine.

Then, since Russia, knowing its conventional forces are inferior, will then attack Poland and Romania and use nukes.

Is Zeihan right on that?
