Because Jesus is the true shepherd sent from God to care for our souls, we must hear and respond to his voice in faith joyfully following him and fleeing from all false shepherds.

The sin of legalism comes far to easily to religious conservatives who take the Bible very seriously. As we look at the unbelief of the Pharisees, we see our own sins mirrored in their unbelief. But the Lord of light and life has come to show us our sins and bring us to repentance and faith in Him.

Every believer has remaining sin, the flesh, to wage war against. Only by the Holy Spirit's power, not our own, can we fight against our fleshly desires and grow in producing godly fruit.

Because we have met Christ and seen by faith Who He is, the opposition we face from an unbelieving culture ought to serve to clarify our view of Him and deepen our faith as we continue to hold fast to what we know to be true of him

In this message we see again how Jesus can do what no one else can. Here he demonstrates his power as Light over darkness, calling us to put our trust in Him and follow Him in taking His light into this darkened world.

Because Jesus either is Who He claims to be or He is not, we must decide whether we will believe and follow Him as Lord, or turn away and reject Him as a Liar or Lunatic. As C S Lewis said, He is either Liar, Lunatic or Lord. We must either follow him or reject Him.

Jesus makes some radical claims about Who He really is. Are they true- How can we know- What evidence does he point us to- That's what we look at in this message from John 5.

Because Jesus, the Son of God, is the source of all life who gives life to whom he will, He will be our final judge. All will be raised to face Him. Therefore, out only hope is to trust Him for the salvation He alone can provide.

In this message we see how the Father and Son delight to work together in the salvation of a people. Because Jesus is the Son of God sent by the Father to accomplish His work of salvation, we must honor and believe Him as we would honor and believe God the Father
