God whittles Gideon’s army to a fraction of its size and tells him it is enough. When it’s time to step up to what God has for us, we can count on our strength or count on His.

As things start to get real for Gideon and his calling, he begins to wrestle with doubts. Fleeces are not tools for discerning God’s will; they are tools for those who are afraid. Thank God He is gracious to us even when we are wrestling with His plans for us.

Before Gideon can step into his calling he must deal with the idolatry of his and his family’s past. Dealing with your past can be painful and unpopular. But once you do, you will be free to step into your future.
