This session delved into the fundamentals, history, and practical applications of macrobiotic palm healing. Key points included the concept of healing energy ("biokey") and its roots in ancient traditions worldwide, with practices such as Reiki, palm healing, and laying on of hands.
The discussion emphasized the importance of balancing yin (expansive) and yang (contractive) energies for health, explaining how imbalances manifest in both emotions and physical conditions.
The speakers outlined practical lifestyle and diet recommendations—like predominantly eating whole grains, chewing food thoroughly, and minimizing synthetic materials and electric heat exposure—as essential to effective healing.
Techniques such as mindful hand placement and chanting to harmonize energy were also introduced. The meeting closed by exploring the idea that even small daily habits can affect energy balance and overall wellness, encouraging ongoing observation and learning.

The 5 Reiki Principles, often recited "just for today," are designed to guide and inspire daily living. Here they are, each with a brief explanation:
These principles are meant to be practiced daily, helping individuals to lead a more balanced and harmonious life.
In this episode of Healing Connections, we explore the origins of Usui Reiki, founded by Mikao Usui in early 20th-century Japan. Usui, a lifelong seeker of spiritual knowledge, developed Reiki after a profound spiritual experience during a retreat on Mount Kurama. This encounter led him to create a system of healing based on channeling universal life energy, along with the Five Reiki Principles:
Usui's teachings were passed on to Chujiro Hayashi, who further structured the practice, and then to Hawayo Takata, who brought Reiki to the West in the 1930s. Usui Reiki has since become a global practice, maintaining its focus on balance, compassion, and universal energy. Through Reiki, Usui's vision of healing lives on, offering a pathway to wellness for the body, mind, and spirit.
Hi everybody, it's Rod Lyman from Rod Talks. How are we doing today? I'm excited to have a guest today. His name is Zack Lyman. He's a comedian and he's a marketing expert in a lot of different things. And he's amazing. But the best part about it is he is my son. What we thought we'd do is we do an AI podcast.
Okay. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to ask ChatGTP on my phone, some comedian questions and that and see, what pops up and we'll just start asking some AI questions from ChatGTP and that. And Zack's gonna, we're gonna go back and forth. He's gonna pull up his chat GTP and ask me questions also.

1. Relieves pain, anxiety, and fatigueAccording to a review of randomized trialsTrusted Source, reiki may help to reduce pain and anxiety, though more research is needed. It may also help to reduce fatigue.
A 2015 study found that people being treated for cancer who received distant reiki in addition to regular medical care had lower levels of pain, anxiety, and fatigue. These levels were significantly lower than the control group, which only received medical care. Participants had 30-minute sessions of distant reiki for five days.
In another 2015 study, researchers looked at the effects of reiki on women following cesarean delivery. They found that reiki significantly reduced pain, anxiety, and the breathing rate in women 1-2 days after having a cesarean delivery. The need for and the number of analgesic painkillers was also reduced. Reiki didn't have an effect on blood pressure or pulse rate.
A 2018 studyTrusted Source compared the use of reiki to physiotherapy for relieving lower back pain in people with herniated disks. Both treatments were found to be equally effective at relieving pain, but reiki was more cost-effective and, in some cases, resulted in faster treatment.
2. Treats depressionReiki treatments may be used as part of a treatment plan to help relieve depression. In a small 2010 study, researchers looked at the effects of reiki on older adults experiencing pain, depression, or anxiety. The participants reported an improvement of their physical symptoms, mood, and well-being. They also reported more feelings of relaxation, increased curiosity, and enhanced levels of self-care.
Larger, more in-depth studies are required to expand upon these findings.
3. Enhances quality of lifeThe positive benefits of reiki can enhance your overall well-being. Researchers in a small 2016 study found that reiki was helpful in improving the quality of life for women with cancer. Women who had reiki showed improvements to their sleep patterns, self-confidence, and depression levels. They noted a sense of calm, inner peace, and relaxation.
Larger studies are needed to expand on these findings.
4. Boosts moodReiki may help to improve your mood by relieving anxiety and depression. According to results from a 2011 study, people who had reiki felt greater mood benefits compared to people who didn't have reiki. The study participants who had six 30-minute sessions over a period of two to eight weeks showed improvements in their mood.
5. May improve some symptoms and conditionsReiki may also be used to treat:
The relaxation response that happens with Reiki may benefit these symptoms. However, specific research is needed to determine the efficacy of reiki for the treatment of these symptoms and conditions.
Rod talks about being an empath and a little story of how an elephant can stay so calm.
Enjoy the story and have an amazing day.
"On one beautiful day, an elephant was standing by the shade of a tree, eating its leaves. Suddenly, a small fly came buzzing and landed on the elephant's ear. The elephant stayed calm and continued to eat, not heeding the fly."
