It's kind of an "other shows that are a bit like Star Trek" day...Seth MacFarlane updates Jimmy Fallon on the state of The Orville season 3, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow is about to cross over into the Star Trek multiverse. Plus I'm running down the virtual Star Trek events to look forward to this week!

Star Trek: Picard producer Akiva Goldsman says the show will continue for as long as its star, Sir Patrick Stewart, wants to do it, and while production has paused for season two, Stewart is keeping busy reading sonnets, with a little help from Jonathan Frakes. All that, plus this week in Trek history!

Keeping the science in "science fiction" is a challenge whether it's for an adult or children's audience. In 1973, physicist Harvey Lynn was consulting The Animated Series just as he had done for Star Trek originally. The Trek Files is pleased to welcome Trek's newest science advisor, Dr. Erin MacDonald, to talk about keeping it real on the Enterprise.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, or as most of us are going to call it, "The Pike Series", is finally a go. Executive Producer Rod Roddenberry chimes in on how quickly the series started to take shape, and how closely (or not) it might hew to the original Star Trek. Be sure to join us live on the Mission Log Facebook page!
