  • I Wonder If She Knows_ Roland Clark (acapella) ©rolandclarksongs ASCAP
    I wonder if she knows
    I wonder if she knows
That somewhere deep inside her lives a goddess
That her thoughts create worlds outside of our galaxy
    Through time and space
That her smile is that thing that determines whether the sun will shine that day
    I wonder
I wonder if she knows that butterflies can hear the sound of her heart
And that stars fall from the sky whenever she becomes sad
That the wind blows in the direction of her breath
    I wonder.
I wonder if she knows that a flower bloomed outside the window at the moment of her birth
That spring is determined by how she feels in April
That whenever she passes a baby they tend to stop crying
That God kissed her on the cheek just a little bit longer than the other souls in the guff
That trees sing when she touches them
That she was named after the 3rd moon of Zorn
    I wonder if she knows
That I wrote this poem for her
    Sometimes I watch her dance,
And the light from her aurora glows even brighter when as the music gets louder
In a moment of weakness I step inside her space to get a scent of her choice of perfume.
    Jus as I thought,
    She smells like wet roses,
    From a summer morning dew
I lose all my other senses
Because I am pulled in even closer
    I cannot see
    But I feel
I feel how she feels’ because so how, some way we are connected
Not even quantum can explain this entanglement
    This vacuum
    This thing
This feeling that I have for her
    I wonder if she knows
    I wonder if she knows’
That all my other dreams are jealous of her
Because ever since I saw her she occupies that time in my mind
She the queen of my R.E.M.
    An in all my dreams
    We are in love
    We are on
    We kiss
    We dance
    We laugh
    We make love
    We are
    us

I use to drive down your road
And places we use to go
    I still remember those days
    Your little sisters behind us
    We would hide
    They would find us
    We would act so afraid
    It’s been 17 years
    All the gang’s still here
    Me, Lucky, and the crew
I thought this pain would just past
But now and then I get sad
I miss the hell out of you
    But now you’re
    Long
    Long Gone
    Long Gone
    Long Gone (repeat)
One of those times I’m missing
Is playing cards in the kitchen
    You would cheat every time
    pretended I didn’t see you
you took me for all my money
but you were worth every dime.
    But now you’re
    Long
    Long Gone
    Long Gone
    Long Gone (repeat).

  • I Know You Roland Clark (2022 Remastering)
Spent so many nights on the phone with you
    Listening to your problems
How this went wrong, and that went wrong
And you don’t know how to solve them
Complaining bout how you need a man
    Someone to set you free
All this time I’ve been in front of you
    How you not consider me
    Am I crazy?
    To imagine
That someday you might look at me
    And not see
    Just a friend
Cause I could be much more you see
    From Friends
    To Lovers
    It only makes sense
Tell me if you want to go
    From friends
    To lovers
I’m the only one who knows you
The way you need someone to know you
    From Friends
    To Lovers
    It only makes sense
Tell me if you want to go
    From friends
    To lovers
I’m the only one who knows you
The way you need someone to know you
    (adlib) I know you (repeat)
When you caught him with somebody else
Who was there to ease your pain?
When your car broke down on the side of the road
Who stood with you in the rain?
And all those times you broke down and cried
Who was there to keep you strong?
Face it, I’m the one you really need baby
I dare you to tell me I’m wrong
    Am I crazy?
    To imagine
That someday you might look at me
    And not see
    Just a friend
I say we take a chance n love and go from
    From Friends
    To Lovers
    It only makes sense
Tell me if you want to go
    From friends
    To lover
I’m the only one who knows you
The way you need someone to know you
    From Friends
    To Lovers
    It only makes sense
Tell me if you want to go
    From friends
    To lover
I’m the only one who knows you
The way you need someone to know you
    (adlib) I know you (repeat)
Remember I use to walk you home from school everyday
And if it were nice day we’d take the long way
I’d buy you ice cream and I’d hold your books
And everybody would look at me and say yo
    Is that your girl?
And all I could say is
    She’s my friend
    But deep down inside
I know you know I wanted you
I know you know every time our faces came so close
    I just wanted to
Grab your cheeks and pull you in
    And kiss you passionately
    But
you always had somebody else on your mind
Your boyfriends they would treat you bad
    And
    They would make you sad
And the first person you would call is me
And like a fool in love
I’d sit there and I’d listen
All night if I had to
    Because
I always hated to see you in pain
    That was some time ago
    And
    I’m still here
    I’m still listening
    I’m still by your side
And all I ask is that
    For once you consider me
I’ve known you for a long time
Yeah we go back like potato chip sandwiches
And food fights in the lunchroom remember that?
And I remember every time you’d get dressed in front of me
You’d ask me to look away
    But
    I always took a peek
    I think you knew
    Yeah
    I know you
    I know you
    I know you

Laura had me wrapped around her finger
    For all intents and purposes
    I was her man
I found her note on my car in December
    It sayss she’s leaving & I wouldn’t understand
    99.9 percent
Of my love for her never faded away
They tell me broken hearts can mend
But this one don’t seem to be going away
11 months have come & gone since I saw her
Until she knocked on my door
    Much to my surprise
She said I think it’s time for you to meet your daughter
    She’s lovely and I think
    She has your eyes
    99.9 percent
of me fell in love all over again
There's an angel looking up at me
With her tiny feet just dancing in the wind
