  • Episode #16 Dance Mobility - Cheryl Angelelli
    In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet the incredible Cheryl Angelelli. At the age of 14, Cheryl was involved in a tragic diving accident that left her a quadriplegic. In 1991, she was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Michigan and went on to win the title of First Runner-Up Ms. America. In 2000, 2004, and 2008 she made the Paralympic Swim Team, where she won two Silver medals at the Beijing Paralympic Games and two Bronze medals at the Athens Paralympic Games. Cheryl is a 7-time world champion. Cheryl retired from Paralympic swimming in 2014 and took up another Paralympic sport; competitive wheelchair ballroom dancing. She and her dance partner, Tamerlan Gadirov, are one of the top ranked Para Dance Sport couples in the U.S. She and Tamerlan have won multiple awards in the U.S. including first place at Fred Astaire World Championships in 2016 and 2019, and first place at the prestigious Ohio Star Ball in 2017. Cheryl is the co-founder of Dance Mobility, a free wheelchair ballroom and amputee dance program offered at select Fred Astaire Dance Studios across the country. In addition to her job in health care marketing and being a motivational speaker, Cheryl now travels teaching, competing and performing wheelchair ballroom dancing. She will share her story of overcoming the impossible. It’ my honor and privilege to introduce you to Cheryl Angelelli.

  • Episode #15 The Heart Attack-Randy Perkins
    In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet Randy Perkins. Randy and I have been friends since elementary school. We were high school teammates on our football team, and he was our running back. Randy graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. He has over 30 years in law enforcement and currently is a Financial Crimes Investigator for the City of Irving. Randy and his wife Teresa have been married for 21 years. While in perfectly good health, at the age of 58, Randy sustained a heart attack while getting ready for work. Randy told his wife Teresa that he was not feeling well, and Teresa immediately told him to go to the Emergency room, where he was diagnosed as having a heart attack. According to the American Heart Association, approximately every 40 seconds an American will have a heart attack. In the US, there will be an estimated 720,000 new attacks per year and 14% never survive. Randy is here to tell his story of how he overcame his heart attack and what symptoms you shouldn't ignore. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Randy Perkins.

  • Episode #14 The EDstrong Foundation-Edwin Munoz
    In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet the incredible Edwin Munoz. In September of 2018 Edwin was involved in a diving accident at a lake, in which he broke his C5-C7 cervical vertebrae and nearly drowned. After four years he has managed to recover far further than any doctors ever said he would. Edwin managed to regain arm function, as well as take some steps. Today, he trains adaptive athletes at the adaptive training foundation, and runs his own nonprofit organization, The Edstrong Foundation. The foundation empowers those with paralysis and other neurological disabilities through fitness-rehab, travel and community. Edwin offers free rehab at his small facility he built in 2020. He is currently training for this year's ultra-distance bike ride on May 20th that starts in Dallas and ends in Denver 30 days later. He hopes to cover over 1000 miles. Edwin's goal is to continue to push quadriplegics and other adaptive athletes living with paralysis to live life to the fullest. Come and follow his journey.

    In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet the remarkable Terry Dewberry. Terry is the parent of two sons who were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Doctors often told Terry and her husband it's uncertain if their children would ever lead a normal life, leaving the family in a constant state of fear of not knowing what could possibly be done. Terry started exploring avenues to educate her sons and eventually developed her own niche in homeschooling. Her two sons are now young adults and leading a remarkable life, something Terry and her husband never imagined possible.Terry goes into details on how she and her husband overcame the challenges with ASD.     Debra has been living with Lupus since the age of 20. When she was 29 years old, she
    had her knee amputated and has since undergone over 36 surgeries. In 2016, she had
    serious vascular problems resulting in the amputation of her left leg. Debra is the owner
    of Easy Access Travel. She has over 30 years of planning trips for special needs and seniors. Debra travels around the world as an Accessible Travel Specialist. She will tell us of some of her challenges as a physically challenged traveler and how she overcame her adversity. Come and follow

    In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet the incredible Aaron Baker. Aaron grew up in Monterey Bay, California. Aaron was a world class professional motocross athlete until 1999. At the age of 20, Aaron sustained a spinal cord injury that crushed his C4, C5, and C6 vertebrae in a motocross accident, during practice. Today, Aaron is an author, speaker and an entrepreneur. He recently wrote a book called Rebellious Recovery and started a new company called Pneumind, an Educational Platform. He will describe how his comeback after the life changing event.     In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet the incredible Jeff Gibson. Jeff grew up in Dallas, Texas where he graduated from Carter high school. He was a 3-year varsity letterman in basketball, receiving all-state honors his senior year. Jeff earned a basketball scholarship to Western Texas College and he received his Associate degree in Science. He then went on and played college basketball at Dallas Baptist University and received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. In 2006, he was diagnosed with heart disease and in 2017, Jeff was a recipient of a heart transplant. After 30 years working with the city of Dallas Parks and Recreation department as a Recreation supervisor, Jeff retired but still works part time for the city of Irving. He will describe how he overcame his adversity due to his new heart transplant. Come and follow along his journey!

    In this episode of Rollin’ with Ray, you will meet Roy Tuscany, a remarkable man. Roy has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont. Roy had hopes of becoming a world class professional skier. In 2006, Roy sustained a spinal cord injury as a result of a skiing jump accident, while training in Mammoth Mountain Terrain Park in California. Roy opens up on how he overcame the adversity of this tragic accident and what inspired him to start the High Fives Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps athletes who have sustained life-changing injuries, and get back to their sports.
