What draws us to travel? Why do we like to get away from home? I asked and got some interesting answers with a common theme. Whether it's camping, road tripping, or flying to far off destinations, we love a good trip.

Life gets busy so it's been awhile. In the last episode , which my vet tech daughter so graciously helped with, we discussed animals and travel. One item we mentioned was getting your pets chipped. A tic tac sized electronic placed just under the skin of your pet on the back of its neck. Not long after that episode I ran into a situation where a chip saved a dog which had been hit by a car. I came upon a dog and its son (found later), which had been hit. There was a person stopped to help already. I took the two dogs to an emergency vet. The chip in the injured dog was used to track down the owner. Neither had any tags or other I.D. I relate this as I was hiking, so please forgive the audio. Thanks for listening!

I sat down with my daughter, Taryn, and we talked camping with pets, particularly dogs. She is a vet tech. She's offering ideas although not in a professional capacity. But she's really good. She has years of experience. She has been bitten by multiple dogs in her job, but she remains fearless around even the most aggressive dogs. She cries with the owners when pets don't make it. She keeps us in line with our own pets. So here are a few tips and tricks for traveling with your furry friends!

Only our third episode and you get to hear me cry. We recently had to put our lab, Marty, down. He was a huge part of our family and we will miss him. I wrote this to put into words what I was feeling.  

Our first full episode covers a few ideas on camping with kids. We can't possibly cover everything but here are a few ideas and things we have learned along the way. Camping is an adventure, and camping with kids add a lot of fun and work. Many of these ideas apply to adults as well. Water safety, fire safety, so you need Search and Rescue? Get out there and camp!

Welcome to the Rollin' with the Dilley's podcast. We are Rob and Tyra Dilley. We've been married for 30 years plus and have camped and traveled during all of that time. We have 4 kids that we have dragged along with us, so you might hear from them from time to time. We are no experts, but over the years we have picked up some ideas and tricks that have helped make traveling, particularly camping, more enjoyable.
