  • Why do we think of others the most when they’re gone? - Buwan ng Wika Special for 365 Questions with Rome (Q51-55)
Ang episode na ito ay nasa wikang Filipino (sa abot ng aking makakaya) dahil nga sa Buwan ng Wika ang Buwan ng Agosto.
Ito ang mga tanong na sinagot ko sa episode na ito:
In the haste of your daily life, what are you not seeing? If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Have you ever regretted something you did not say or do? Has your greatest fear ever come true? Why do we think of others the most when they’re gone?
Available din ang episode na ito in video format sa YouTube channel ko: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVjXZRwNs9ievTWu7r-hLPg

  • Reading Habits, Tech's Inspiration, and Why Love is Still the Answer to Everything with Andrew Chien
Andrew is a friend with whom I can talk about books and ideas for hours. He is Taiwanese and we've only met over two years ago. We don't really talk often, but when we do we'd usually take hours talking about the different books we've been reading, the ideas we have in mind, our curiosities about progress and development, and so on.
In this episode, we talked about our reading habits, the books we've recently read, some ideas that fascinate us and more.
This episode is also available as a vodcast on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVjXZRwNs9ievTWu7r-hLPg

  • If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? - Buwan ng Wika Special for 365 Questions with Rome (Q46-50)
Hello! Thank you for checking out my podcast. This is a weekly segment (kind of a bonus episode) that is based on the 365 table talk questions. I'm answering 5 questions a week and it might not be of interest to you unless we actually know each other. You're free to listen if you want to keep going. If not, please note that my full episodes (usually with guests) are being released weekly every Saturday. Happy listening!
It's August and it's Buwan ng Wika in the Philippines so this segment will be in Filipino throughout the whole month.
Below are the questions I tried to answer:
Where do you find inspiration? Can you describe your life in a six word sentence? If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? What impact do you want to leave on the world? What is the most defining moment of your life thus far?

  • Water Viruses, the Joy of Teaching, and Cooking Chinese Adobo in Hong Kong with Charlie Montealegre
Charlie is currently studying and doing research in Hong Kong. He used to be an instructor in the Department of Chemical Engineering in the University of the Philippines Diliman and I've been lucky to have him as my instructor in one of my majors.  In this episode, I asked him about his motivations for pursuing a career in research and in the academe. He mentioned a bit about his current studies (water viruses), the joy he gains from teaching, and his recent experience of cooking adobo. There's a lot more fun stuff we talked about.  Watch/Listen to know more! This episode is also available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBS6lrzm2Uw

  • HelloTalk, Language Learning, and Korean Social Networks with Alex Hwang
I invited a stranger-turned-into-friend from a language exchange app called HelloTalk to become my guest in this episode. We haven't really talked much on the app. We've only had a number of conversations going and when I posted an invite for podcast guests, he volunteered and so we have this episode!  In this episode, Alex and I talk about the app where we met (HelloTalk), a number of things about language learning, and the Korean social networking sites that are popularly used in Korea.  Brands and apps mentioned here are not sponsors. They're just things we use and know. :)

These are the questions I answered: When was the last time you listened to the sound of your own breathing?  What’s something you know you do differently than most people? What does ‘The American Dream’ mean to you? Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? If you could instill one piece of advice in a newborn baby’s mind, what advice would you give?

What do we all have in common besides our genes that makes us human?
If you could choose one book as a mandatory read for all high school students, which book would you choose?
Would you rather have less work or more work you actually enjoy doing?
What is important enough to go to war over?
