Alice and Martha have dirt on their noses and corned beef sandwiches packed for the first leg of the journey through Ron’s character. Even though he keeps busy mooching off his rich friends and dutifully tending Norbert, Ron still gets really good marks, and most importantly, he’s a wizard chess savant! (That part will be VERY significant later in the series).
