I hope our message of experience strength and hope reaches someone who can relate and results in them getting the help they need.

I was reminded this morning at church I attend that this time of year is often seen as dreary and well, blah. I hope you all can find things that brighten your days. Maybe this episode can be that for you.

I’m excited to announce that Room 14 has now accumulated over 400 plays! I’m very happy about that and very grateful for each one of you that have given the show a listen.

Welcome to Room 14 and Episode 14 of the Room 14 Podcast! How’s that for a bunch of 14’s! I truly never thought I would have even this many episodes with unique guests! I am so appreciative for today’s guest and all of my great guests! Thank you all for helping me to carry the message of recovery and happiness!

Many of my relationships in recovery have been in AA. Many of those have been from meetings at our one and only club house in Lincoln, the Meeting Place. I met this episode guest in front of this Meeting Place and we talked for an extensive amount of time. He has since become a pillar in the AA community here and provides a great amount of service

Welcome to Episode 12! Today we meet Gregg. Growing up in rural Nebraska gave him a lot of skills and free time to develop habits with drinking and drugs. Minor encounters with the law assisted him, as it does many to find help and his personal surrender. Gregg is a talented Jack of all trades and seemingly master of many. I have shared meeting time with him in the rooms of AA and enjoyed listening to the things he shares. Thank you for recording with me and sharing your experience, strength and hope!

Dennis went from a sip of beer with his father to later in life an everyday scotch drinker. After an incident of rage, he decided it was time to look into help. Though this guest has been sober for 40 years and living mere blocks from me, we didn’t meet each other until I started a 6 a.m. AA meeting in Room 14.

I checked the amount of plays we had while I was publishing this episode and I have 100 plays! THANK YOU to all of the people that have listened and are supporting me in this journey.

This last week I was able to celebrate 11 years of continuous sobriety and Dennis presented me a 11-year chip and some very kind words. I’m so happy to know him and to have his story on this show.
