Throughout history Christians have lived with good and bad governments. When things are going well for Christians, it’s easy; when bad, it’s hard. So how does a person spiritually decide which it is? What does a person then do?

James concludes his book with encouragement to pray for many things. The question will be; do we trust God or our prayers?

To be human is to have dreams, hopes and goals. To be human with a relationship with God is to also have prayers. Do prayers and dreams ever meet, and how should they?

I’m guessing we all have played a game and when we see we are losing we want to quit or start over. There is a way to continue to play and still win.

History is strewn with leaders who did anything to get to the top and remain there. Surprisingly this type of activity shows up in our lives when we least expect it. James writes about this in chapter 4.

The truth of the matter may be clear and yet it is often overlooked ignored or misunderstood. Such is the case with wisdom.

Did you know that the tongue is the strongest muscle in the body? That is probably because it is used so much. It is not only the strongest muscle but is also more powerful than one might think.

You may have read, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17 (NIV). An oral culture does use words, but does so to draw a visual picture.

Faith and good works; the discussion has gone round and round for centuries. Perhaps the answer is found in an apple.

God shows no partiality. He treats us all the same. Yet we know families where parents played favorites. How about you?
