Are we too certain about what we think we know? Dant and Big Kountry debate the death penalty, Bob Lazar, Area 51, UAP disclosure, alien contact, AI superintelligence, faith, race and what happens when technology changes the world faster than we can.
The conversation starts with the value of changing your mind, then turns to capital punishment and the irreversible consequences of wrongful conviction. From there, Dant takes Big Kountry through Bob Lazar's disputed S-4 claims, Area 51, Element 115, UFO/UAP lore, presidential secrecy stories, experiencers such as Betty and Barney Hill, alleged encounters around nuclear facilities and the cultural question of why Black voices are often less visible in UFO history.
Finally, the guys connect the mystery to artificial intelligence: AGI, superintelligence, goal-driven systems, automation and the speculative possibility that humanity could be approaching a technological threshold we don't fully understand.
Room 518 distinguishes established facts from testimony, disputed claims, folklore and speculation. The goal isn't to prove aliens — it's to ask better questions.
The guys talk about whether Homecoming is really for students or alumni, how campuses transform when everybody comes back, why the band matters as much as the game, and what it was like experiencing Homecoming from inside the marching band.
They also compare other *HBCU Homecomings*, including North Carolina A&T, Norfolk State, Fayetteville State, Jackson State, Tennessee State, Southern, Grambling State, Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina Central, Texas Southern and more.
Then — *FINALLY* — _Slid Under the Door_ returns.
Viewer submissions take the room from an unbelievable Taco Bell eating challenge to street food, food trucks, a stolen car with a baby inside, and a much more serious conversation about child safety, public situations, and knowing when to step in, alert someone, or call for help.
The episode closes on a personal note as Big Kountry shares an update about his daughter and the family’s hopes for her upcoming procedure.
So we want to hear from you:
What HBCU Homecoming should everybody experience at least once?
And if you’ve got something ridiculous, confusing, funny, or worth debating…
SLIDE IT UNDER THE DOOR.

A Different World is officially back — but does Netflix's return to Hillman College actually capture the HBCU experience?
Dant and Big Kountry watched the new A Different World sequel series, and Room 518 is going back to school.
We're talking about what the revival gets right, what feels different, the new generation of Hillman students, Whitley and Dwayne, the returning legacy characters, the relationships, the cameos—and yes, that marching band scene. 😂
And as two Shaw University alumni who actually lived the HBCU experience together, we've got some thoughts about why the title A Different World still makes perfect sense:
Black college really is a different world.
Then things get dangerous.
What if Hollywood decided to remake Martin today?
Who plays Martin? Gina? Pam? Cole? Tommy?
DC Young Fly? Jermaine Fowler? Keke Palmer? Teyana Taylor? Storm Reid?
And if that wasn't enough, we try to build a modern cast for Eddie Murphy's Harlem Nights.
Jamie Foxx. Michael B. Jordan. Leslie Jones. Winston Duke. Yara Shahidi—and plenty of arguing along the way.
Plus: parenting an almost-18-year-old, college expectations, Wolverine, Topgolf, and the usual Room 518 foolishness.
Welcome back to Room 518.
Two longtime friends. One room. A lifetime of stories.
