What happens when you know what God is asking you to do, but saying yes feels uncomfortable, inconvenient, or doesn’t make sense yet?

This week on Rooted & Radiant, we’re continuing our September series on discipline, habits, and building a life with a conversation about The Power of Daily Obedience.

I'm joined by Cherie Craney, wife, mom of two, and Christian children’s book author, for an honest conversation about what obedience to God looks like in everyday life.

Together, they unpack what it means to recognize God’s direction, say yes before you feel ready, and remain faithful when obedience doesn’t immediately produce the outcome you expected. They also get into the harder questions: What happens when obedience costs you something? How do you know the difference between waiting on God and God waiting on you? And what happens when you know you delayed your yes?

Because obedience isn’t only found in the big, life-changing decisions. Sometimes it’s found in the small, quiet yeses nobody else sees. 🤎

Ask yourself:

What has God already been asking me to do that I keep delaying, negotiating with, or waiting to feel ready for?

Name it. Identify what’s making you hesitate. Decide what your yes looks like. Then take one practical step within the next 24 hours.

You don’t need to see the next ten steps to be faithful with the one God has placed in front of you.

Week 3 of the You’re Not Alone series looks a little different. This week, it’s just you and me.

I also share an anonymous story from someone who lost their best friend to suicide and the reminder their experience leaves with all of us: we may never fully know what someone is carrying.

We talk about checking on the people we love, asking the second question, letting others into our own struggles, and remembering that seeking help does not mean we lack faith.

Psalm 34:18 reminds us that God is close to the brokenhearted. Even when the fight feels too heavy, you do not have to carry it alone.
