When addressing the difficulty of the rejection the Prophet, peace be upon him, was facing in Makkah, Allah (swt) referenced the soundness of his mental wellness as a reinforcement that what he was going through at the hands of his enemies in Quraysh was not an indication of any mental illness.
In both the Quran and the Hadith narrations Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, addresses spiritual wellness as being tied to mental wellness (and vice versa). Yet, so often, we see mental health being discarded as unimportant and incorrectly bandaged by spirituality generalizations, and we also see a doubt in the power of spirituality as a way of healing in the modern mental health era.
