Wow! Nearly two years since the last video...
Probably a good thing today's video is about procrastination! Writers are good at what they do, but there's one little devil always peeking over their shoulder that most are incredibly familiar with.
Hannah and Liv discuss what they procrastinate with and what they've done to try and overcome this little beastie!

Thank you for your support!
WARNING: This episode contains discussions of trauma, grief, depression, and mild language (swearing). There are mentions of the loss of a family member, the loss of a pet, and a brief mention of domestic violence. If you or a loved one is experiencing domestic violence, please visit www.dhs.pa.gov for the Pennsylvania State and National hotlines. For a direct number, you can call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or you can chat at www.thehotline.org. Alternatively, if you or a loved one is feeling deeply depressed and needs someone to talk to, please reach out to 988. Just because it is a Suicide Prevention Hotline does not mean you cannot call. They would much rather hear your story than read your obituary, as would those of us on the podcast.
You are valid, you are seen, and you are loved. Please be safe out there.
Welcome back to the latest episode of Rose Petal Musings! Olivia is back with Hannah and they take a bit of a darker turn in topics by discussing grief, trauma, depression, and how to convey that in writing. They make some personal connections to the struggle of grief and depression, but do their best to keep the topic light. It's a difficult thing to write about, grief, and so this was a topic they especially wanted to touch upon together. Don't feel scared to write about it! Just do your research and have your circle there to keep your spirits up.

DISCLAIMER: Olivia and Hannah recorded this using Zoom again, so audio may not be of the best quality, but they assure you it was the best option they could find for free. They will accept a donation in the form of a commission to go to the Better Sound Equipment Fund (BSEF). Olivia also drops maybe a single curse word (AGAIN) which is why this will be marked as explicit.
We're back with another video!
After being gone for a few months (a lot of months), Liv is here to cover why she was absent. This episode includes discussions on the topic of mental health.
She is also going to cover why it's okay to just disappear for a bit. No warning, no goodbye post/episode, just a disappearance and why that's okay. Seriously, it's okay to just dip when you need to. Don't apologize. Stop apologizing for taking care of yourself.
IF you are so inclined, Rose Petal Writings does currently have commissions open! A nice spooky treat for this spooktacular month, wouldn't you agree? Take a look and if you want to commission Rose Petal Writings, contact one of the following places:

Hey, guys! Olivia is back with another episode. Things seem to be chugging along on a monthly basis which is fine by Rose Petal Writings, but if you'd like to see more frequency don't be afraid to reach out.
This episode, Liv covers what's been going on to shake up her already shaky writing routine and how you can be more productive as a writer. One hint: it involves RESTING for once, you filthy heathens. Olivia had to go rest after this because there were two too many brain farts in this episode.
If you are so inclined, Rose Petal Writings still has commissions open and can be contacted at the following places!

Welcome back to another episode! It's a bit late but hey, ish happens. This episode is dedicated to the wonderful, magical combination of music and the writing process. Olivia talks with Hannah and the two muse about their muses. They get into their personal histories with music, what genres they listen to most, which genres are helpful, and what they like to use for writing! Hannah's cat, Schecter, also makes himself known vocally (and visually on YouTube). He IS named after a guitar brand, he's a valuable part of the conversation! Olivia uses information from a Harvard study at https://neuro.hms.harvard.edu/centers-and-initiatives/harvard-mahoney-neuroscience-institute/about-hmni/archive-brain-1 to bring some science to the discussion.

It's the first episode, so why not tackle the most basic question about writing: What makes a writer? Olivia takes a look at writing as a profession with some statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (United States) at https://www.bls.gov/ooh/media-and-communication/mobile/writers-and-authors.htm. Olivia then falls off into a bit of a rambling story because that lazy punk didn't write a long enough script (oops). Live and learn, writers. Live and learn.

DISCLAIMER: Olivia drops one (1) f-bomb which is why this episode is labeled as explicit. She's got a sailor's mouth so really, this is a vast improvement to actually talking to her.
