What are your business goals? And why you should you care?
One of the first things you're taught is to have goals for you to succeed. Having goals is what drives you to succeed. But the question, where do you start and why should you have goals?
Key number one is to listen to your heart. Be honest about what you really want to achieve and keep it simple. Having a goal should not be complicated and drain you when you think of it. It should fill you with so much excitement, enthusiasm and energy that you can't stop thinking or talking about it. Your business goals and your personal goals should be in line with each other. It will help to keep you focused and interested in achieving your goals.
When your personal goal is to make more money, your business goals will be to get more clients and make more sales. Once you understand the correlation between your business and personal goals, and can see how connected they are, you will become more determined and focused.
Setting goals are very personal and intimate. It's all about your vision, your dream and your desires. You don't have to compete or compare when you decide on what you want to achieve. You must just know what's important to you.
Do you want more money? Do you want to be rich or just comfortable? Why do you want more money? What would it meant to you?
Those are some of the questions you must ask yourself when you set a business goal. If your only goal is to make money, you will not succeed. You need more than the desire for money and riches to become successful in life. You need purpose, a reason why you'll keep on doing what you're doing every single day. It will take a lot out of you, and you'll have to make many sacrifices, face many obstacles and disappoints: all of this while you won't see a cent coming into the business. The only thing that will keep you going through those difficult and painful times is when you remember the goal that is written in your heart.
Your goals must be tied to the dreams in your heart. If you're slogging it just to impress someone or to prove yourself, you're going to end up disillusioned and disheartened, you'll get lost in the race to nowhere. And you won't enjoy success when it comes. If your goals are about what you think you should do you'll feel empty and disappointed when you do achieve them.
You have to be honest about what you really want. You need to think carefully and truthfully about your true desires. What speaks to your heart? What makes you come alive inside? What is it that you can do in the middle of night without being asked? What gives you a sense of accomplishment when it has been done?
You will find that your actual goal has nothing to do with money, but everything to do with how you feel.
When you have a goal that is heart-orientated, you become more driven and more focused. You are more determined than you ever thought was possible. You discover the fire inside of you that you thought died a long time ago. You will become alive in a way that will surprise you. Most importantly, you will value your time, because you will understand the importance of every minute.
What are the important things you want to achieve? What is the one simple thing you can start doing right now that will be the first step in achieving your goals?
It can be quite overwhelming when nothing in your life is working and you have to decide what you want. Don't force it. Just think about what you want and how you want your life to be. And start small. Do you have to wake up a little bit earlier to do what needs to be done? Do you have tp switch off your phone for a few hours to avoid distractions? Do you have to watch less tv? Do you have to make one phone call? Or read a blog, watch an inspirational Youtube video or reach to at least one person? Then do it. And surprise yourself.
