Ephesians is a book that highlights one of the most important distinctions in all of the Bible and breaks neatly into 2 distinct portions. In the first portion, chapters 1-3 discuss the first key section. This division has been described as the "indicative/imperative" or the "belief/behavior" distinction. This means that for Christians--the first part of Ephesians tells us who we are in Christ and the second part tells how we must respond to our new life in Christ! Our text is found in the "household code" section beginning at 5:22. This morning, we looked at the section from 6:1-4.
We walked through the verses 1-4 of chapter 6, but before that we described 5 biblical realities of parenting.
- To parents is given the primary responsibility of the training of children
- Children are an objective good within the context of marriage
- The raising of children is extremely difficult
- Godly parenting requires daily discipline from godly parents
- One particular sign of the last days will be parents abandoning their children and children refusing to obey their parents
We pray that you enjoy and benefit from this look at God's Word! We would love to have you join us for weekly worship on Sundays at 11:00am. We meet at:
