Today Pastor Brink begins a new series for the Fall season, entitled “Ordinary Heroes.“ In coming weeks we will examine Bible stories about people who served God’s purposes despite the fact that they were unlikely, unqualified, and (in some cases) unwilling. Today we examine the process — that is, how can we become more useful to the Lord.

Pastor Brink returned last week from a summer sabbatical, and today he resumes his preaching ministry at Rosewood. Since this is Labor Day weekend and a season of start-ups in church and school, Pastor Dan’s theme will be “The Word on Work,” focusing on what God desires in our daily lives.

Today we welcome Rev. Kyle Brooks, co-pastor of Tapestry Church in Oakland, CA, as our guest preacher. He will be preaching on the story of the Tower of Babel from Genesis 11:1-9. God invites us into His big mission to all the nations, but are we willing to accept His call? Often read as a story about pride, it is more fundamentally a story about God’s relentless pursuit of His mission despite our pride and fear.

Today Pastor Bonny will conclude our summer sermon series, “Living in the Light,” with a closer look at Psalm 27. In this psalm, written by King David, the focus moves from unshakable confidence in the strength of the Lord, to prayerful struggle in the midst of attack, to confident trust that the Lord will never let go of those he loves.

Today we will continue our summer series, “Living in the Light.” Pastor Bonny  will highlight the story of Saul’s conversion, as a glorious light from Heaven stopped him in his tracks and turned his life around. Saul, the persecutor of Christians, was used powerfully by God. What is God’s mission for your life? How will God get your attention?

Today we will continue our summer series, “Living in the Light.” Pastor Jackson will highlight the fact that we, as the body of Christ, are called to be lights in a dark world. That calling is for us to shine and reflect the goodness and grace of God.

How do we stay in the light ourselves?
