In this special edition of the Rough Drafts Podcast, Chase "RedShirtKing" Wassenar and Walter "Ceades" Fedczuk invite special guest Hughbo "SoulDra" Shim, former head coach of Gravity Gaming and Gamers2, to discuss his experiences in the League of Legends scene while battling the difficulties that come with Korean hotel internet. They begin with what separates a good analyst from a bad one, how SoulDra managed to find his way into the scene, and why rushing an analyst to a coaching position ends up hurting both teams. They follow that up with a breakdown of what it means to be a coach in the modern scene, how talent outweighs everything else, and the cultural differences that make sOAZ's comments on the inefficiencies of modern coaching less crazy than they might appear on the surface. There's also a solid digression into player contracts, the importance of sustainability, and how carefully this information needs to be handled moving forward, as well as the importance of the general public in these kinds of debates.
