  • RTK: What led to John Dorsey's firing? 6/24/17
On this episode of Roughing the Kicker, Joshua Brisco discusses the shocking firing of Chiefs GM John Dorsey and the extension of Andy Reid.

The best place to start? Trying to figure out why the Kansas City Chiefs made a major adjustment in their front office in late June - an incredibly rare move, especially for a widely-respected general manager. Then, Benjamin Allbright joins the show to discuss his report that Andy Reid forced John Dorsey out of Kansas City after a disagreement about Jeremy Maclin was "the straw that broke the camel's back." Then Matt Verderame of Fansided joins the show to talk about his column breaking down the value of John Dorsey and where the Chiefs go from here.

Plus, Derek Carr has gotten a huge payday from the Oakland Raiders, and they're going to face some new challenges in the wake of the Carr contract extension.

  • RTK: The Chiefs "don't need" a #1 wide receiver? 6/14/17
Apparently, after the Chiefs cut Jeremy Maclin, some people began to think that the Chiefs just don't need a traditional number one wide receiver, and that Kansas City might just be better off without Maclin at all.

On this episode of Roughing the Kicker, Joshua Brisco examines this line of thinking and dives into Andy Reid's comments about the Chiefs' current group of wide receivers, especially Demarcus Robinson.

  • RTK: The Chiefs are undeniably worse without Jeremy Maclin, 6/4/17
On this episode of Roughing the Kicker, Joshua Brisco breaks down the shocking release of Jeremy Maclin and tries to figure out what's next for the Kansas City Chiefs. Plus, Seth Keysor joins the show to give his perspective on the Maclin move and to discuss the Chiefs' sloppy salary cap management. Also, Ron Parker had the week's most insightful comment about OTAs.

The 2017 Chiefs are simply, undeniably worse without Jeremy Maclin. Even the greatest optimists have to admit that you would rather have Jeremy Maclin on the field than Demarcus Robinson, Jehu Chesson, Albert Wilson, De'Anthony Thomas or whoever else sneaks on to the roster. Even if you contend that Maclin was being overpaid, the Chiefs offense has not been nearly good enough to have the luxury of releasing one of their top playmakers and eating their mistake.

This is a rare smudge on the John Dorsey/Andy Reid résumé, and it's a big one.
